DC reviews progress on Sargodha beautification drive

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2026) Beautification work on City Road and Kutchery Bazaar has entered the final stages,with authorities pushing to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe.

Deputy Commissioner(DC),Sargodha Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry visited the sites on Saturday to review progress. ADC Headquarters Muhammad Arshad Wattoo, along with officials from the highway department and FESCO, were also present.

FESCO officials briefed the deputy commissioner that work on shifting electrical installations underground on City Road was progressing at a fast pace.

They said transformers and overhead wiring were being removed and replaced with a modern underground system, which was nearing completion.

Similarly,beautification work in Kutchery Bazaar was also underway, with uniform facades being developed in front of shops.

Under the project,both markets will be converted into pedestrian zones in phases while standardized signboards will be installed to enhance the overall outlook.

Speaking on the occasion,the DC said the initiative was part of efforts to transform Sargodha into a modern urban center in line with the vision of Chief Minister(CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

He directed officials to ensure timely completion of the project while maintaining quality standards.

Traders expressed satisfaction over the initiative,stating that the project would not only improve the area’s appearance but also promote business activity and strengthen the local economy.
