BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hassan Raza visited the Rescue 1122 office to review preparedness for the upcoming monsoon season and potential flood situations, where a joint mock exercise involving multiple departments was conducted.
The drill brought together teams from Rescue 1122, the Health Department, Police, Civil Defence, education Department, Irrigation Department, and other relevant agencies, all demonstrating their readiness to respond effectively to emergency scenarios. During the exercise, officials reviewed key aspects of disaster response, including rescue operations, emergency coordination, timely evacuation of affected populations, provision of medical assistance, and the establishment of relief camps.
Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for stronger inter-agency coordination and directed all departments to ensure a swift and efficient response in the event of flooding. He stated that the protection of human life and property remains the top priority of the district administration, and all available resources will be utilized to manage any emergency situation. He further instructed concerned departments to ensure the constant availability of machinery, rescue equipment, and trained personnel. Stressing the importance of public awareness, he called for timely dissemination of information to minimize potential losses during emergencies.
