DC orders strict monitoring of anti-dengue drive

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (retd) Nadeem Nasir has directed all departments concerned to ensure 100 per cent implementation of anti-dengue micro plan and negligence in preventive measures would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

He issued these directions while chairing a meeting of District Emergency Response Committee to review ongoing anti-dengue measures across the district.

He expressed dismay over the performance of entomologists and directed that field surveillance should be made more effective with visible and measurable results.

He instructed the officials to set weekly targets, closely monitor performance and submit regular reports to ensure accountability and transparency in anti-dengue campaign.

He emphasized accelerating the public awareness campaign regarding dengue prevention.

He directed the authorities to make announcements in mosques across the city in addition to getting highlighted the dengue menace and preventive measures in Friday sermons to raise awareness among the citizens.

He further ordered regular inspection of graveyards, junkyards, tyre shops and other sensitive locations identified as potential breeding sites.

He directed for special focus on union councils that reported higher dengue cases last year and stressed the need for targeted interventions in high-risk areas.

He made it clear that strict compliance with the anti-dengue micro plan must be ensured and that all departments must work in close coordination to prevent any outbreak.

He underscored that proactive monitoring, field presence and community engagement remain key to effectively controlling dengue in the district.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioners, officers of Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA), Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA), Municipal Corporation, Environment Department, Health Department, entomologists and others were also present in the meeting.
