DC Matiari stresses importance of EPI vaccination

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Matiari, Muhammad Yousif Shaikh has said that EPI vaccination is extremely important to protect the public from infectious diseases and to ensure a healthy future for children, as it provides protection against 13 dangerous diseases. He emphasized that every institution must fulfill its responsibilities effectively in this regard.

According to a handout issued on Thursday, expressing this while speaking in a ceremony and awareness walk, the DC said while observing world immunization week, vaccinators in district Matiari will administer protective vaccines to more than 10,000 children to safeguard them from diseases.

Under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner, an inaugural ceremony and awareness walk were successfully organized in connection with world immunization week. The awareness walk started from municipal committee Hala and concluded at taluka hospital, with a large number of officers from various departments, health staff, students and representatives of civil society participating.

During the ceremony, participants were informed about the importance of vaccination, and the public was urged to ensure that their children receive protective vaccines to prevent dangerous diseases.

On this occasion, a readiness meeting was also held at taluka hospital Hala, where arrangements made by relevant departments were reviewed. A strategy was devised to make the campaign successful, and emphasis was placed on strengthening coordination among different institutions.

Meanwhile, the awareness walk was also attended by the District Health Officer Dr. Asif Hussain Shah, ADC-II Iqra Jannat, assistant commissioner Hala Dr. Mazhir, assistant commissioner Matiari Abdul Sattar Sheikh, assistant commissioner Saeedabad Abdul Shakoor Solangi along with officers and representatives from the health department, police, education, social welfare, population welfare, NGOs and other relevant departments. The Deputy Commissioner directed all institutions to work collectively to ensure the success of the campaign and to raise public awareness.
