KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz on Wednesday conducted an extensive inspection of several public facilities in Kohat to review sanitation standards and administrative arrangements, officials said. Accompanied by the Town Municipal Officer and other officials, he visited the city slaughterhouse, bus terminal, fruit and vegetable market, Eidgah, major bazaars, and public parks.
During the visit to the slaughterhouse, the deputy commissioner stressed the need to ensure hygienic and quality meat for citizens. He directed authorities to maintain strict cleanliness, conduct daily veterinary examinations of animals, and strictly prohibit the slaughter of sick or unfit livestock, warning that negligence in sanitation or monitoring would not be tolerated.
At the Kohat bus terminal, Mr. Nawaz inspected passenger facilities including seating arrangements, drinking water availability, ticketing services, and overall cleanliness. He instructed staff to enhance service standards, respond promptly to public complaints, and maintain courteous behavior with travelers to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
The deputy commissioner also inspected the fruit and vegetable market, where he reviewed sanitation and price monitoring mechanisms. He ordered officials to ensure quality standards and provide fresh produce at government-notified rates, reiterating that profiteering and hoarding would not be allowed, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
Later, Mr. Nawaz visited the Eidgah to assess arrangements for upcoming Eid prayers and directed authorities to complete preparations in a timely manner while maintaining cleanliness. He also inspected the price monitoring desk at Chungi Nahar Bazaar, emphasizing uninterrupted availability of essential commodities at official rates.
The deputy commissioner concluded his visit with inspections of Ahmed Faraz Park and the Women and Children Park, directing improvements in sanitation, tree trimming, lawn maintenance, and completion of pending works. Citizens appreciated the administration’s proactive measures aimed at improving public facilities and ensuring relief for residents.
