DC inspects fruit and vegetable auction at Chiniot market

CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Aisha Rizwan on Thursday visited the local vegetable market and inspected the auction process for fruits and vegetables.

Assistant Commissioner, Ashfaq Rasool, the Secretary of the Market Committee and other officials accompanied her during the visit.

The officials said the deputy commissioner reviewed the bidding procedure, assessed supply and demand conditions and monitored wholesale prices to ensure merit at the retail level.

Speaking on the occasion, Aisha stressed strict adherence to official price regulations and directed authorities to display rate lists prominently while maintaining quality standards.

She warned traders against creating artificial shortages or hoarding goods in the markets.

Providing quality food items to the public at fixed prices remained the top priority of the district administration, she said, adding that immediate legal action would be taken against the violations.
