DC inspects development projects

ASTORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jul, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Astore, Neelum Ali, visited several ongoing development projects in different parts of Astore district to review their progress and ensure timely completion.

During her visit to Boys Degree College Pati Pora, she inspected the area affected by land erosion adjacent to the college building, as well as the ongoing restoration work on the public access road ensuring immediate measures for the rehabilitation of both the college premises and the public pathway.

As a result, the damaged road was restored, while emergency protective measures were also implemented to reduce the risk posed to the college building by land erosion.

In addition to restoring the public access road, the irrigation channel (Kuhl) supplying water to agricultural land had also been rehabilitated. She directed the concerned departments to undertake comprehensive and permanent protective measures to safeguard the college building from future land erosion.

Assistant Commissioner Astore Wajahat Saleem, Deputy Director Development education Department Sadaf Alam, and Principal of Boys Degree College Professor Abdul Awal accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visit.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited the under-construction RCC bridge at Kani Das in Gorikot and reviewed the pace of construction. She directed the Public Works Department (PWD) to resume construction activities within one week and ensure the early completion of the remaining work so that the project could be made operational without further delay.

She also inspected the under-construction RCC bridge in Zail village and expressed satisfaction over the progress of the project. Executive Engineer PWD Inamullah and the relevant engineering staff were present during the inspection.

In the final phase of her visit, Ms. Neelum Ali inspected the under-construction Press Club building. The Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department and the Headquarters Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) briefed her on the project's progress, ongoing challenges, and future plan of action.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to complete every development project within the stipulated timeframe and according to the approved quality standards so that the public could benefit from these important initiatives at the earliest.
