DC initiates upgradation of Forest Park Pul Gharaat in Mian Channu

KHANEWAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Mar, 2026) In line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif to provide citizens with quality and healthy recreational facilities, the district administration of Khanewal has accelerated efforts to improve public parks and recreational spaces.

In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Khanewal Maliha Rashid has initiated practical steps to upgrade Forest Park Pul Gharaat into a modern and attractive recreational spot for the residents of the area.

The Deputy Commissioner visited the park located in Mian Channu and conducted a detailed review of its current condition. During the visit, officials of the Forest Department briefed her about the park and its existing facilities.

She directed the Forest Department to present a comprehensive plan at the earliest for the park’s upgradation, beautification and provision of improved civic amenities so that the recreational site could be developed in line with modern standards.

Maliha Rashid said that Forest Park Pul Gharaat would be transformed into a beautiful recreational facility equipped with modern amenities for the people of Mian Channu. She emphasized the need for proper planning for plantation, landscaping, walking tracks, suitable sitting arrangements and other facilities to make the park more attractive for visitors.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the revival and beautification of the long-neglected park was among the priorities of the district administration. She added that steps were also being taken to improve facilities at Wildlife Park Peerowal and Forest Park Pul Gharaat so that citizens, especially families, could enjoy a healthy and safe recreational environment.

She expressed hope that the residents of Mian Channu would soon witness significant improvements in the park and families would be able to enjoy healthy recreational activities there.
