DC directs strict action against profiteering in Murree

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi on Wednesday chaired a meeting of price control magistrates at the DC Office to review measures for controlling prices of essential commodities and curbing profiteering.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Assistant Commissioner Murree, Assistant Commissioner Kotli Sattian and all price control magistrates of the district attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed ongoing price control operations in various tehsils and was given a detailed briefing on the current situation.

The DC directed the magistrates to ensure regular market inspections, strictly enforce official price lists and take indiscriminate legal action against violators.

He said that profiteering would not be tolerated under any circumstances and a zero-tolerance policy would be implemented in this regard.

He emphasized that providing relief to the public was the top priority of the district administration and directed officers to perform their duties with dedication and honesty. The Deputy Commissioner further directed that daily performance reports on price control activities be submitted to make the system more effective and efficient.

At the end of the meeting, it was reiterated that all possible measures would continue to be taken to stabilize the prices of essential items and address public complaints promptly.
