DC directs action against begging mafias

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali directed authorities to take action against begging mafias and people using children for begging during a meeting on anti-begging measures held in Sialkot on Thursday.

According to a spokesperson for the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, the meeting reviewed measures to control professional begging, protect children and ensure legal action against those exploiting minors for begging activities.

The deputy commissioner said all concerned departments should work together to eliminate professional begging and improve coordination for effective enforcement. She also urged citizens to cooperate with the administration in removing the social evil from society.

Officials from police, social welfare, child protection, health and other departments, along with representatives of NADRA and non-governmental organisations, attended the meeting.
