DC Chiniot reviews site for food street, orders immediate start of work

CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan on Tuesday visited library Park to review the proposed site for the establishment of a food street aimed at providing recreational and dining facilities to residents.

The visit was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) and Administrator Wasiq Abbas Haral, Chief Officer Municipal Committee Mirza Muzaffar Baig, and other officials. The deputy commissioner was given a detailed briefing on the project.

Directing authorities to commence work without delay, the DC also instructed that grass and plants be planted around all sides of the park to enhance its environment. She said the food street was being developed in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, aiming to provide citizens with quality food options in a pleasant and family-friendly atmosphere, including recreational opportunities for children.

Later, the deputy commissioner visited various locations along Sargodha Road to review ongoing beautification efforts. Accompanied by the same officials, she inspected the fountain monument and flower wall constructed in front of the General Bus Stand and appreciated the work carried out by the municipal committee, while issuing further directives for improvement.

She also directed the replacement of old protective railings around monuments at Bypass Chowk with new ones, along with repainting, improved lighting, and other enhancements to uplift the overall appearance.

During her visit to Dolphin Chowk, the DC ordered immediate measures for cleanliness, plantation, and installation of lights. She further issued instructions for the rehabilitation and improvement of the General Bus Stand, as well as beautification of the outer wall of Machhianwala Graveyard.
