HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Sanghar Sarah Javed on Monday chaired an important meeting regarding the National Immunization Days (NID) polio campaign. Officials from the health department, World Health Organization, UNICEF, district administration and other relevant departments attended the session.
According to a handout, the meeting reviewed in detail the arrangements for the upcoming anti-polio campaign scheduled from May 18 to May 24 across the district. Discussions focused on micro-planning, deployment of teams, security arrangements, cold chain management and special strategies for high-risk union councils.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarah Javed directed that every child under five years of age must be administered polio drops, ensuring that no child is missed during the campaign. She emphasized that protecting all children under five from this crippling disease is a shared responsibility.
The deputy commissioner also instructed relevant officers to ensure strict monitoring of field teams and submit daily performance reports. All assistant commissioners were directed to oversee the training of UC Medical Officers (UCMOs) and conduct sessions to guide them on effective implementation of the micro-plan.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to make Sanghar a polio-free district. The participants were also briefed on arrangements by N-Stop Officer Dr. Deedar Khaskheli and District Health Officer Dr. Muhammad Farooq.
Among others present were Civil EPI Focal Person Dr. Bahar Wassan, representatives of UNICEF, the education department, World Health Organization, PPHI, health department officials and all assistant commissioners.
