DC Attock chairs RTA meeting, orders strict enforcement of traffic laws

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza on Saturday chaired an important meeting of the Regional Transport Authority to review road safety measures and strategies to prevent traffic accidents, officials said.

The meeting was attended by Secretary RTA Zahid Ahmed Khan, along with officials from relevant departments and police authorities. Detailed discussions were held on improving traffic management, reducing accident rates, and ensuring effective enforcement of traffic laws across the district.

The deputy commissioner directed all concerned departments to adopt a coordinated approach to promote road safety and strictly implement traffic regulations.

He stressed that violations must be addressed firmly and without discrimination to curb the rising number of road accidents.

Special focus was given to safety measures related to the transportation and use of LPG cylinders. It was decided that strict action would be taken against illegal transportation and the use of substandard cylinders, while officers were instructed to enhance field monitoring and ensure zero tolerance for negligence in enforcing safety protocols.
