Punjab Minister reviews development work at historic religious places in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd May, 2026) Punjab Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora visited multiple historic religious and heritage sites in the city, inspecting ongoing restoration and development work aimed at preserving minority worship places and cultural landmarks.

During his visit to the Krishna Mandir, the minister inspected the repair and beautification work.

Officials briefed him on the progress of construction work over there.

Speaking on the occasion, Arora emphasized that no compromise would be made on the quality or pace of the work.

He reiterated that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees the rights of minorities and ensures religious freedom for all citizens.

He directed authorities to expedite the completion of the project.

The provincial minister also visited Haveli Sujan Singh, where he was briefed on ongoing development work.

He remarked that the preservation and restoration of historical religious sites are being actively pursued under the chief minister’s vision, adding that such landmarks represent the region’s rich cultural heritage.

Later, Arora visited the Maharishi Guru Om Valmiki temple, where members of the Hindu community highlighted the need for further development work.

The minister instructed the concerned authorities to address the issues and ensure necessary improvements.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to safeguarding minority rights and preserving religious and historical heritage across the province.
