CTO reviews Muharram traffic arrangements at Data Darbar,Karbala Gamay Shah

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO),Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi on Wednesday visited Karbala Gamay Shah and the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh Ali Hajveri (RA) to review traffic and parking arrangements for Muharram gatherings and processions.

During the visit,the CTO inspected various diversion points and alternative traffic routes established to facilitate commuters and mourners.

DSP Rashid Hayyat briefed him on the traffic management plan and parking arrangements for participants of Majalis and processions.

Abdul Rahim Shirazi also interacted with traffic wardens deployed at diversion points and directed them to treat citizens with courtesy and professionalism while performing their duties.

He said additional traffic personnel had been deployed to ensure smooth traffic flow and provide maximum convenience to the public during Muharram.

The CTO said comprehensive parking arrangements had been made for mourners and visitors attending the annual Ghusl ceremony at Data Darbar, Majalis and Muharram processions.

He also instructed traffic wardens to remain vigilant and keep a close watch on suspicious individuals and unattended objects to help maintain security.

Shirazi said all possible measures were being taken to prevent traffic disruptions across the city and ensure smooth movement of vehicles during the holy month.

He added that more than 3,000 traffic officers and personnel would be deployed across Lahore on Ashura (10th Muharram) to manage traffic and facilitate mourners and the general public.
