Crackdown launched against adulterated milk in Dera

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) The district administration in collaboration with the Halal Food Authority and the Livestock and Dairy Development department has launched a crackdown against adulterated milk in the city.

As part of the drive, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Iftikhar Ahmed, carried out a joint overnight inspection alongwith the officials of other relevant department to examine the quality of milk being supplied from Punjab to various cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the operation, a total of seven milk tankers were inspected. Authorities collected 23 samples and conducted 285 chemical tests. Overall, 52,000 liters of milk were checked.

Laboratory results revealed that four samples contained water adulteration ranging from 1.5% to 3.2%.

However, no chemical contamination was detected in any of the samples.

The district administration imposed a cumulative fine of Rs65,000 on those responsible for supplying the adulterated milk.

Speaking on the occasion, the Assistant Commissioner said that there would be no compromise on public health and that strict, indiscriminate action against those involved in the supply of adulterated or substandard milk would continue.

He further said that monitoring of food items would remain stringent in the future.
