Crackdown against overloading, overcharging launched in Murree

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) City Traffic Police Murree has launched a crackdown against overloading, overcharging and traffic violations ahead of Eid-ul-Azha holidays.

According to a spokesman, strict action is being taken against transporters involved in overcharging and overloading, and several vehicles have been fined.

The operation is being carried out on the directions of Chief Traffic Officer Munir Ahmed Hashmi, with special squads deployed on highways, bus stands and entry points.

The CTO said ensuring safe, organised and comfortable travel for tourists was a top priority, directing transporters to follow fare regulations and avoid carrying excess passengers.

"Additional personnel have been deployed to manage traffic flow and prevent accidents, while a special traffic plan is also being implemented", he said.

Authorities have urged tourists and citizens to follow traffic rules and report any overcharging or mismanagement for prompt action.
