Police produced Anmol alias Pinky before a South judicial magistrate at the Judicial Complex inside Karachi Central Jail to seek her physical remand in murder case
KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-May 18th, 2026) A judicial magistrate on Monday reserved its decision on a police request seeking an extension in the physical remand of alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky in a murder investigation.
After completing her initial two-day physical remand in the murder case, Anmol was produced before a South judicial magistrate at the Judicial Complex inside Karachi Central Prison.
She is currently on physical remand in a separate narcotics case until May 22, while she remains on judicial remand in 13 other cases until May 30.
The accused, who was arrested last week from her Karachi apartment in connection with narcotics possession and illegal arms cases, is already facing multiple criminal proceedings. Officials said the number of cases registered against her has now risen to at least 15.
Earlier, the magistrate approved a request by Investigation Officer Rashid Nazeer to hold the hearing at the Judicial Complex instead of the court premises.
During proceedings, Anmol once again alleged that she was subjected to torture and mistreatment while in police custody.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Public prosecutor Shakeel Abbasi appeared on behalf of the state, while defence counsel Advocate Liaquat Gabol represented the accused.
Police requested a nine-day extension in the physical remand, whereas the defence opposed the plea, arguing against further custody. After hearing arguments from both sides, the court reserved its verdict, which is expected to be announced later.
At the beginning of the hearing, some police personnel reportedly attempted to restrict media coverage and allegedly warned journalists of legal action if they reported the proceedings.
The magistrate also asked as to why the medical examination ordered earlier had not been conducted. In response, the investigation officer stated that evidence existed against the accused.
When the officer referred to alleged voice recordings linking her to the case, Anmol rejected the claim, alleging that the recordings were generated using artificial intelligence.
