Contractor dies of suffocation as fire breaks out in mill

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2026) A man died of suffocation after a fire broke out in the mixing unit of a Mill on Saturday,

the Rescue 1122 said.

The incident occurred at the mill located on Jhang Road in the suburban area of the city, where the mixing unit suddenly caught the fire.

As thick smoke spread throughout the premises, contractor Muneer Ahmed suffocated to death.

Rescue teams rushed to the scene and launched a search and rescue operation.

District Emergency Officer Obaidullah also reached the site. The body was shifted to DHQ Hospital while police of the concerned jurisdiction were informed.

The initial investigation could not confirm whether the fire was caused by a short circuit or any security lapse.

Further inquiry is underway.
