Constable injured as accused attack police during court transfer

BUREWALA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) A constable was injured when four accused persons allegedly attacked police personnel during their transfer to the lockup after a court appearance,police said on Saturday.

According to details,the accused were brought from jail for hearing in cases involving drug trafficking, attempted murder and illegal weapons possession.

Police said the incident took place after court proceedings when a dispute erupted during a routine search as individuals present along the route attempted to meet the prisoners and pass on food items.

Upon police objection and an attempt to carry out a search, the accused allegedly resisted, hurled abuses and threats and attacked officials,leaving Constable Tayyab injured.

Other personnel were also manhandled during the scuffle.

A police contingent led by DSP Burewala reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

The Model Town Police have registered a case against the four accused and initiated further investigation.
