Comprehensive security plan deployed for 8 Muharram in Chiniot

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) A strict and comprehensive security plan has been implemented for the organization of 23 processions and 73 gatherings on the occasion of 8 Muharram-ul-Haram in Chiniot district.

More than 800 police officers and personnel are performing security duties across the district. According to police officials, foolproof security arrangements have been ensured for all gatherings and processions.

Supervisory officers are visiting different places and reviewing the security measures on ground to ensure effective implementation of the plan.The gatherings and processions are being continuously monitored through CCTV cameras and a central control room.

District Police Officer Dr. Naveed Atif said a four-layer security system has been implemented for gatherings and processions to maintain law and order.

He said walk-through gates, CCTV cameras and additional personnel of the elite force have been deployed on the routes of important processions. Full implementation of the government code of conduct regarding Muharram-ul-Haram is being ensured, and all available resources are being utilized to maintain peace.

The DPO said that Chiniot Police is always active to protect the lives and property of citizens and to ensure peaceful conduct of religious activities during Muharram.
