Commissioner reviews Eid arrangements, development projects in Gojra

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen on Saturday visited Tehsil Gojra and reviewed Eid-ul-Azha arrangements in addition to inspect ongoing development projects and assess public welfare initiatives for improving civic facilities and cleanliness standards across the area.

During her visit, the divisional commissioner inspected the temporary cattle sale point established in connection with Eid-ul-Azha and reviewed arrangements for traders and buyers.

She checked the availability of chilled drinking water, medicines at the livestock counter and deployment of staff at Rescue 1122, health and other facilitation counters.

She also inspected parking arrangements and inquired about fee collection mechanisms.

She personally interacted with traders and buyers to verify the implementation of free entry and exit facility for sacrificial animals at the temporary sale point.

She directed the concerned departments to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and ensure continuity of all arrangements till Eid-ul-Azha.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that excellent facilities had been ensured for traders and buyers at temporary sale points across Faisalabad division and the administration is committed to provide maximum relief and convenience during Eid days.

Later, the divisional commissioner chaired a meeting at Municipal Committee Office Gojra where she was briefed about implementation of public welfare measures and municipal services in the tehsil.

She directed officials to beautify entry points of the city and ensure full functionality of water filtration plants.

She also ordered that streetlights should remain operational while beautification and rehabilitation work at the general bus stand should be completed at the earliest.

She further directed authorities to equip the slaughterhouse with modern facilities and reviewed recovery targets with revenue officers.

Stressing the importance of meeting fiscal goals, she ordered officials to achieve all recovery targets by June 30.

She also reviewed progress on the Punjab Development Program at a site adjacent to the Municipal Committee Office.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Toba Tek Singh Umar Abbas Mehla informed her that sewerage restoration, storm water drainage and other civic facilities would be provided in Tehsil Gojra under a development project costing Rs6 billion.

The program was being implemented in phases, he added.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the slow pace of construction work, the divisional commissioner reprimanded the contractor and issued a deadline for completion of phase-wise work.

She warned that failure to complete the assigned work by June 30 could result in blacklisting of the contractor.

The commissioner also visited an awareness camp established by Suthra Punjab Authority in Gojra and said that all arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha had been finalized across Faisalabad division to provide citizens with a clean and healthy environment.

She said that waste bags were being distributed among citizens and appealed through the media for public cooperation in the cleanliness drive by collecting offal of sacrificial animals and handing it over to sanitation staff. Around 1,000 waste workers would perform duties across the tehsil during Eid-ul-Azha, she added.

During her visit to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, the divisional commissioner inspected medical arrangements, visited patients and inquired about availability of medicines and treatment facilities.

She checked the operational status of machinery and reviewed cleanliness standards in various sections of the hospital.

She directed the hospital administration to install additional benches and introduce a digital token system to save patients from long waits and queues.

She emphasized that hospitals must ensure provision of prompt and satisfactory healthcare services to all patients.

The divisional commissioner also visited the underpass, beautification project and the under-construction Sahulat Bazaar. She inspected recreational facilities at Ali Asghar Park and said that parks were being transformed into quality recreational spaces for families and youth.

She appreciated the tehsil administration for establishing a basketball court in the park and directed officials to organize sports competitions involving youth, including students of religious seminaries.

Later, she visited state-of-the-art Family Park in Gojra, which has recently been opened for families after inauguration.

She reviewed recreational facilities there and praised the establishment of a dedicated family park in the tehsil.

She also visited Jinnah Park and reviewed facilities available for visitors.
