LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) Commissioner Marryam Khan and Deputy Commissioner Ali Ijaz on Monday visited Shah Pur Kanjran, the city’s largest cattle market, to review arrangements and facilities being provided to traders, buyers and sacrificial animals ahead of Eid-ul-Azha amid intense heat and increasing public rush.
During the visit, the commissioner inspected various camps established by the Livestock Department, Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC), Rescue and other departments in the market.
She reviewed the availability of shade, electricity, water supply, washrooms, drinking water and other essential facilities for citizens and cattle traders.
Commissioner Marryam Khan also checked the attendance of officers and staff deputed at the camps and directed that the entire staff must remain present in the market camps without any compromise. She said public facilitation measures should be ensured in accordance with the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

They informed that free disposal bags for animal waste would be provided to buyers directly at the markets, while banking facilities and other basic amenities had also been established for the convenience of traders and visitors.
The commissioner also visited different animal enclosures and interacted with traders and citizens to inquire about the facilities being provided at the market. She directed the departments concerned to maintain full focus on public facilitation, particularly in view of the extreme weather conditions and the expected peak rush in the remaining days before Eid-ul-Azha. Marryam Khan emphasized that no negligence would be tolerated in ensuring the availability of facilities in line with government instructions.
