FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen directed to ensure zero waste around the airport and Pakistan Air Force airbase during Eid-ul-Azha in order to prevent bird hazard and ensure flight safety.
Chairing an important meeting in the division, she said that pigeon flying, use of laser lights and dumping of sacrificial animal waste and meat near the airport and airbase posed a serious threat to flight operations.
A ban has already been imposed under section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) in these areas to avert any untoward incident during Eid days, she added.
She directed the district administrations to launch an extensive public awareness campaign urging citizens not to throw sacrificial animal offal and meat near the airport and airbase.
All available publicity channels should be utilized while banners must also be displayed at conspicuous places in the surrounding areas, she added.
She instructed the officials to ensure pruning of trees around sensitive locations and directed the authorities concerned to collect data of fish and poultry farms operating near the airport and airbase.
She also ordered deputy commissioners to keep monitoring teams active during Eid holidays and take strict legal action against those found throwing meat and animal waste openly or selling charity meat illegally.

Meanwhile, the divisional commissioner also reviewed Eid-ul-Azha arrangements and issued necessary instructions to various departments to ensure cleanliness and public convenience across the division.
She directed the chief officer of the Municipal Corporation to make streetlights functional immediately on roads and in streets, while the Managing Director of Horticulture Agency was assigned the task of ensuring cleanliness in parks.
She further stressed that no manhole should remain uncovered and directed WASA authorities to ensure safety measures at under-construction project sites.
She also sought a briefing from WASA regarding contingency planning in view of possible rains during Eid holidays.
She tasked additional commissioners with visiting parks and ensuring provision of all public facilities before Eid celebrations.
