Commissioner directs disposal of revenue cases within six months

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jun, 2026) Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division, Dawood Khan, has directed all concerned officials to dispose of pending revenue court cases on a priority basis and ensure their resolution within a maximum period of six months to provide timely relief to people and enhance government revenue collection.

He issued these directives while chairing a meeting on the recovery of government dues, revenue court cases, property tax, capital value tax, and other revenue heads.

Deputy commissioners, additional deputy commissioners (Revenue), assistant commissioners, and officials of the revenue and excise departments from various districts attended the meeting.

During the session, participants reviewed the progress of government dues recovery, pending revenue cases, and the achievement of revenue targets for the current fiscal year.

Relevant officials briefed the Commissioner on their performance, existing challenges, and the current status of revenue collection.

Commissioner Dawood Khan instructed departments to adopt an effective strategy for revenue recovery and ensure the achievement of assigned targets.

He warned that negligence in the collection of property tax, capital value tax, and other government revenues would not be tolerated.

He said that government revenues played a vital role in financing provincial and district development projects and improving public service delivery.

Therefore, he said, all officers must perform their duties with honesty, professionalism, and dedication.

The commissioner also stressed the importance of digitalizing records, ensuring transparency in revenue matters, and adopting modern administrative practices to facilitate public services.

The meeting further decided that pending cases in revenue courts would be monitored regularly, with monthly reviews conducted to reduce delays and address legal complications on time.

He directed all concerned departments to strengthen coordination and institutional cooperation to achieve revenue targets, increase government revenues, and improve public service delivery.
