CM pays tribute to Malala Yousafzai for promoting girls’ education

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2026) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Sunday paid tribute to Nobel Peace prize laureate Malala Yousafzai for her sacrifices and services in promoting girls’ education, describing her as Pakistan’s daughter and a global symbol of peace and knowledge.

In her message on Malala Day, the chief minister said Malala’s struggle for girls’ education continues to inspire young people across the world and demonstrates that the power of education can bring positive change to society.

She said Malala’s efforts to promote education would not go in vain, adding that her unwavering commitment had conveyed a strong message to the world that girls’ education is essential for peace, progress and sustainable development.

CM Maryam Nawaz said the Punjab government was taking concrete measures to promote girls’ education, protect their rights and improve their welfare. She expressed the government’s resolve to remove barriers to education so that every girl could pursue learning and contribute to the country’s development.
