CM directs police to handle protesters with dignity,respect

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Mar, 2026) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed the police and district administration to understand the sentiments of protesters and ensure they were treated with dignity and respect.

According to a handout issued here on Sunday, the chief minister said that arrangements were being made for Iftar for the protesters.

The CM said that every Muslim was deeply grieved and saddened at this time, but maintaining peace and law and order in the country and cities remains a collective responsibility. “Please fulfil your duty of maintaining law and order,” she urged, adding that in every moment of sorrow, the nation stands united.
