CM chairs meeting to review service delivery under Good Governance Road-map

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Feb, 2026) Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Thursday chaired a meeting to review service delivery of provincial departments under the Good Governance Road-map.

The meeting was briefed by relevant officials about completed targets and progress on ongoing initiatives. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister stated that aligning service delivery with public expectations and needs is the fundamental and ultimate mission of the provincial government.

He made it clear that no negligence or delay in the implementation of the Good Governance Road-map will be tolerated and directed that all delayed matters be completed at the earliest through innovative and result oriented strategies.

He instructed that all midterm measures under the Good Governance Road-map must be completed by June this year.

The CM also directed that all necessary arrangements be finalized in time to make the Spring Tree Plantation Campaign the largest and most organized plantation drive in the province’s history.

He emphasized ensuring active participation of government employees, students and civil society directing that fruit bearing plants be especially promoted in government offices and official residences. The meeting also discussed the proposed “Roshan Qabail Package” worth Rs 1000 billion for the merged districts.

The CM directed that the package be finalized within the current month and made operational to accelerate development activities in the merged districts. He further directed all provincial departments to immediately initiate the budget preparation process for the next fiscal year.

KP CM ordered that meetings of Provincial Development Working Party be held on a weekly basis to ensure timely approval and implementation of development projects.

Regarding the health sector, he directed that recruitment of contract doctors in government hospitals be completed by 5 March.

He also instructed immediate steps for the launch of mammography services in DHQs of southern districts and in regional DHQs of other districts. He further directed that non-functional and damaged tube wells across the province be restored on a priority basis to provide immediate relief to the public.

Chief Minister stressed increasing teachers’ attendance in government schools from 90 percent to 100 percent and directed the relevant authorities to establish an effective monitoring mechanism. Reviewing matters related to law and order and infrastructure, he directed further acceleration of construction work on the Kumrat and Hangu Sarozei roads and ordered strengthened security for of polio teams to ensure the campaign continues without disruption.

The Chief Minister directed that “Ehsaas Apna Ghar Program” be completed on a fast track basis to ensure provision of housing facilities to deserving families.

The meeting was informed that a total of 327 interventions have been identified under 17 provincial departments of which 47 have been completed while work on 139 is progressing as planned. It was further shared that 268 milestones have been set under Good Governance Road-map with 90 completed and only 3 currently off track.

CM reiterated that good governance, transparency and effective service delivery remain the government’s top priorities. He directed departments to work collaboratively and with a shared sense of responsibility to achieve these objectives.
