CM Afridi approves Khyber Pakhtunkhwa budget 2026–27

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jun, 2026) Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, has approved the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2026–27.

During a cabinet meeting on Friday, the Chief Minister signed the budget documents, formally endorsing the province's financial plan for the upcoming year.

The provincial cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, approved the "Prosperous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Budget 2026–27."

According to the budget document, Rs. 519 billion has been allocated for 2,765 development projects under the Annual Development Programme (ADP). These include 2,070 projects in settled districts, 318 projects in merged districts, and 377 projects under the Accelerated Implementation Programme (AIP).

Under the ADP, 44 percent of the funds will be spent on infrastructure development, 19 percent on the social sector and 13 percent on governance. Additionally, 9 percent has been allocated to the productive sector, while 5 percent will be invested in green sector initiatives.

The budget also includes 1,564 ongoing projects and 1,201 new projects, indicating that the provincial government is prioritizing the completion of existing schemes while launching new development initiatives.
