Police in Chiniot have stepped up action against proclaimed offenders under a special district-wide campaign, arresting 79 wanted suspects and 22 court fugitives during ongoing operations this month, officials said on Wednesday

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) Police in Chiniot have stepped up action against proclaimed offenders under a special district-wide campaign, arresting 79 wanted suspects and 22 court fugitives during ongoing operations this month, officials said on Wednesday.

According to police, among those arrested, five were Category A proclaimed offenders involved in serious criminal cases. The accused were wanted in incidents related to robbery, theft, damage to property, and other offences. Authorities said the arrests were made using a combination of human intelligence and modern surveillance technology.

District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Naveed Atif said a comprehensive crackdown is underway to ensure public safety and maintain law and order across the district. He added that special police teams have been formed to track down and arrest proclaimed offenders without delay.

The DPO further stated that all available resources are being utilized to ensure that no wanted criminal remains at large, reaffirming the police department’s commitment to swift and effective action against criminal elements.
