Chiniot peace committee, police discuss security measures for Ramadan and religious events

CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Mar, 2026) A delegation of peace committee members on Wednesday met with District Police Officer (DPO) Chiniot Dr. Naveed Atif to review the law-and-order situation in the district and coordinate security measures for upcoming religious events. The meeting was attended by divisional and district peace committee members along with senior police officials, who collectively discussed strategies to maintain order and ensure public safety.

During the session, officials focused on the current national security situation and arrangements for Ramadan, including the 21st of Ramadan marking the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (AS). DPO Dr. Naveed Atif briefed the participants on enhanced policing measures, crowd management, and preventive steps to avert any untoward incidents during religious gatherings.

The contributions of the peace committee in promoting law and order, religious tolerance, and community harmony were warmly acknowledged.

On this occasion, the DPO emphasized that the police would maintain vigilant monitoring of miscreants and support all initiatives aimed at strengthening peace. Meanwhile, peace committee members pledged full cooperation to foster religious harmony, safeguard citizens, and uphold stability across the district.

On the occasion, special prayers were offered for the protection of the community and the nation, underscoring the shared commitment of police and civil society to maintain peace, security, and social cohesion in Chiniot.
