Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi chaired a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s House regarding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Youth Policy 2026

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2026) Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi chaired a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s House regarding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Youth Policy 2026.

The meeting received comprehensive briefings on key components of the policy, the governance framework for the Jawan Markiz initiative, and a range of interventions aimed at advancing youth development and welfare across the province.

The Chief Minister directed that elected public representatives be included in the proposed Governing board for the Jawan Marakiz initiative to ensure that the needs and aspirations of young people are effectively reflected in policy formulation, oversight, and implementation.

He also instructed the relevant authorities to expedite the completion and operationalization of under-construction Jawan Marakiz facilities.

Reaffirming the provincial government’s commitment to youth empowerment, the Chief Minister said practical measures are being undertaken to expand equitable access to education, skills development, employment, and entrepreneurship opportunities.

He noted that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Youth Policy 2026 provides a comprehensive and sustainable framework for promoting youth welfare and creating an enabling environment for young people to realize their full potential.

The Chief Minister stated that the government will further expand initiatives supporting startups, career guidance, vocational and professional training, sports development, and talent promotion to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities required to succeed in a rapidly evolving global economy.

He further directed the relevant authorities to introduce capacity-building initiatives for sports coaches through training programmes delivered by internationally qualified coaches.

The meeting was informed that the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2026–27 includes two development schemes worth Rs. 700 million dedicated to the implementation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Youth Policy 2026.

Moreover, Rs. 170 million has been allocated for skills development, digital learning, career development, training programmes, and seminars through the Jawan Markiz initiative.

The meeting was further informed that Rs. 115 million has been earmarked for youth capacity building, entrepreneurship development, startup challenges, business plan competitions, career fairs, and entrepreneurship exhibitions.

Furthermore, Rs. 120 million has been allocated for provincial and district-level youth talent hunts, IT hackathons, technology competitions, youth festivals, conventions, and exchange programmes.

An additional Rs. 60 million has been earmarked to promote meaningful youth participation in environmental protection, climate action, climate awareness campaigns, and afforestation initiatives.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to ensuring the timely, coordinated, and effective implementation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Youth Policy 2026 to empower young people, equip them with future-ready skills, and expand equitable opportunities for their social and economic advancement.
