Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari arrived in Muzaffarabad on Tuesday for a three-day visit to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to lead his party’s campaign for the July 27 Legislative Assembly elections

MIRPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2026) Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari arrived in Muzaffarabad on Tuesday for a three-day visit to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to lead his party’s campaign for the July 27 Legislative Assembly elections.

Bilawal was accompanied by former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, PPP AJK President Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, and Director General Political Affairs Amir Zeeshan Jarral. Upon entering Muzaffarabad via the Kohala Bridge, he was welcomed by Acting AJK President and Legislative Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar, senior PPP leaders, party candidates, and a large number of supporters. A motorcade escorted the party chairman into the capital under heightened security arrangements.

During his visit, Bilawal is scheduled to meet PPP candidates and party leaders from the Muzaffarabad and Poonch divisions to review the party’s election strategy and campaign preparations ahead of the polls. The visit forms part of the PPP’s outreach efforts in the run-up to the scheduled elections.

Later on Tuesday, PPP AJK President Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin was due to host a dinner in Bilawal’s honour, attended by party candidates, divisional and district office-bearers from Muzaffarabad, Neelum, and Jhelum Valley, along with other senior party leaders. The visit comes as political parties intensify campaigning across AJK ahead of the July 27 elections.
