Character building, innovation key to youth success: Commissioner

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar emphasized the importance of moral and social grooming of the youth and said that hard work, honesty and discipline were fundamental principles for a successful life.

Addressing “Friends of Corners” at American Center Lincoln Corner during his visit to Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), he urged the students to prioritize character building and social responsibility alongside their academic pursuits.

He encouraged the young generation to adopt innovation, reading habits and discipline to excel in practical life.

He appreciated state-of-the-art building, modern computer labs and digital library database facilities available at Lincoln Corner and described it as an effective platform for equipping students with knowledge and essential life skills.

During interaction, the students presented their self-designed robot models and other innovative projects.

The commissioner lauded their keen interest in modern technology and announced that a technology exhibition would be organized soon to showcase emerging talent.

GCUF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam briefed the Divisional Commissioner about ongoing research projects related to green energy and sustainable development being carried out by the university’s Department of Environmental Sciences.

The university was actively promoting environment-friendly policies and renewable energy initiatives in line with modern requirements, he added.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to implementing sustainable and eco-friendly policies through joint efforts of district administration and the university.

They also agreed to strengthen institutional collaboration and explore support from waste management system of the city to further advance environmental initiatives.
