ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-June 15th, 2026) A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Super Mushshak aircraft crashed near Mardan on Monday during a routine training flight, resulting in the martyrdom of two officers, according to the military’s media wing.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Qasim Abdullah of the Pakistan Air Force and Lieutenant Taha Abbasi of the Pakistan Navy embraced martyrdom in the accident while on a standard training sortie.
ISPR stated that the aircraft went down near Mardan under circumstances that are currently being investigated. It added that an inquiry board has been constituted by Air Headquarters to determine the exact cause of the crash and examine all aspects of the incident.
The statement said that senior military leadership, including Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with the services chiefs, expressed profound grief over the loss of lives.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed sorrow over the incident, offering prayers for the departed souls and expressing solidarity with the bereaved families. He prayed for strength and patience for the families to bear the loss.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also condemned the incident and expressed condolences, paying tribute to the officers who embraced martyrdom. He also prayed for the swift recovery of three individuals who were injured in the crash.
