LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman from village Lailah Pur and local political figure from PP-154, Chaudhry Akhtar Mayo, has joined the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, marking a notable development in the constituency’s political landscape.

The announcement was made at a gathering attended by a large number of local residents, who warmly welcomed the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the chief guest on the occasion, according to a press release issued here on Thursday.

Addressing the participants, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq extended his greetings to Chaudhry Akhtar Mayo on his decision to join the PML-N and expressed optimism about strengthening the party’s position in the area.

Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry Akhtar Mayo expressed full confidence in the Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

He said his decision to join PML-N was driven by trust in their vision and commitment to public service.

Among others present at the event were Member of the Provincial Assembly Ghulam Habib Awan, Asif Ameen Numberdar, Azad Gujjar, Haji Sajjad and Abid Hussain, along with other party leaders and workers.
