HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th May, 2026) The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hyderabad Water and Sewerage Corporation (HW&SC) Tufail Ahmed Abro has taken notice of submersion of one of the main roads in the city, Makki Shah road, in sewage.
The corporation's spokesman informed here on Friday that the CEO sent an Executive Engineer to conduct a preliminary inspection of the cause of the overflowing sewage and submit a report.
He added that the XEn's report claimed that encroached constructions on the road's main drain had choked the drain at multiple places, allowing sewage to overflow on the road which was a commercial street with hundreds of shops.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>According to him, the XEn stated that due to encroachment the staff could not regularly sludge from the drain.
The spokesman said the CEO directed the officials to identify all the encroached structures and to demolish the same.
He added that the CEO emphasized that no pressure would be accepted to spare any encroachment which was built on the drains.
The CEO also directed the officials to remove stagnant sewage from the road.
