ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) The Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) has reported a strong inflow of Rs12.15 trillion in savings from July 1 to April 22 of the fiscal year 2025–26, achieving approximately 85 percent of its annual target, officials said.

The directorate has set an overall savings mobilization target of Rs1.3 trillion for the ongoing fiscal year.

The encouraging performance in the first nine months reflects growing public confidence in national savings schemes and a strengthening savings culture across the country.

To further diversify its portfolio, CDNS has earmarked Rs 50 billion for investment in Islamic savings instruments during FY2025–26. The initiative aims to promote Shariah-compliant financial products and support the expansion of the Islamic finance sector.

Looking at previous performance, a senior official noted that CDNS had set a target of Rs1.65 trillion for FY2024–25, including Rs170 billion allocated for Islamic finance investments to broaden financial offerings and enhance savings habits.

In FY2023–24, the organization surpassed its target by mobilizing Rs1.742 trillion against a goal of Rs1.7 trillion, indicating strong investor trust. It also successfully met its Rs1.6 trillion target in FY2022–23.

For FY2021–22, the initial target of Rs1.3 trillion was later revised to Rs1.4 trillion in response to favorable market trends and improved mobilization efforts.

Officials added that ongoing institutional reforms and policy innovations are helping improve operational efficiency while expanding CDNS outreach nationwide.
