Cash prize awarded to local entrepreneur to expand Battagram-made products across Pakistan

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jun, 2026) A young entrepreneur from Battagram, Muhammad Tahir, was awarded a cash prize of Rs50,000 for presenting a promising startup idea during the Metrix Pakistan Youth Summit – 8th Edition held at Hazara University Battagram Campus.

The cash award was presented by Deputy Commissioner Battagram, Muhammad Shoaib and Tehsil Nazim Muhammad Khan Tarand during the summit.

Dr. Tariq Anwar Khan, Director Hazara University Battagram Campus, was also present on the occasion.

The prize was announced by C-Suite Nexus Global Chief Executive Officer, Qaisar Akash Khan to help the young entrepreneur establish a website for his business and sell his products across Pakistan.

Muhammad Tahir is associated with a small manufacturing-based startup in Battagram, producing cups and other locally made goods. Organisers said the support was aimed at helping him move his local business towards digital platforms, improve market access and reach customers beyond the district.

Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on sports and Youth Affairs, Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand appreciated the initiative and said the youth of Battagram had immense potential in entrepreneurship, innovation and digital skills.

He said young people in remote and underdeveloped districts should be provided with opportunities, mentorship and practical support so they could turn their ideas into sustainable businesses.

“Encouraging young entrepreneurs is essential for local economic development and self-employment. The youth of Battagram are talented, and such initiatives help them gain confidence and move forward,” the Advisor said in his message.

Deputy Commissioner Battagram Muhammad Shoaib appreciated the initiative and said the district administration would continue to encourage youth-led innovation, entrepreneurship and constructive activities in the district.

He said Battagram’s young people were hardworking and capable, adding that platforms such as Metrix Pakistan Youth Summit provided them with exposure to industry experts, government representatives and business leaders.

“The youth of Battagram need opportunities, guidance and practical support. Such initiatives help them transform local ideas into marketable businesses,” the Deputy Commissioner said.

Tehsil Nazim Muhammad Khan Tarand congratulated Muhammad Tahir and said recognition of local talent was important for the progress of Battagram. He said small businesses and local startups could contribute to the district’s economy if provided with digital access and institutional encouragement.

Dr Tariq Anwar Khan said Hazara University Battagram Campus would continue to support academic, entrepreneurial and youth development activities in the district. He said universities had an important role in connecting students and young entrepreneurs with new ideas, mentors and opportunities.

C-Suite Nexus Global CEO Qaisar Akash Khan said the purpose of announcing the Rs50,000 cash prize was to support a practical business idea and help it move from a local market to a national market through digital tools.

He said Muhammad Tahir’s startup reflected the potential of Battagram’s youth, who were working with limited resources but had the ability to create value through local manufacturing and innovation.

He said the private sector should come forward to support young people in underdeveloped areas through mentorship, market linkages and digital transformation.

The Metrix Pakistan Youth Summit – 8th Edition held in Battagram on June 15, 2026brought together students, entrepreneurs, government officials, educators and industry experts to discuss technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership and future career opportunities for young people in Battagram and neighbouring districts.

Organisers said the recognition of Muhammad Tahir was part of the summit’s broader objective to promote practical learning, digital empowerment and entrepreneurship among the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
