QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Feb, 2026) The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) has issued directives to abroad recruiting agents engaged in overseas employment placements, instructing them to immediately register with the authority and ensure timely submission of tax returns for each tax period.
According to the BRA, under schedule III of the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services (BSTS) Act, 2015, as amended through the Finance Act 2025, a 5 percent tax has been imposed on recruitment services provided for overseas employment.
The authority emphasized that all relevant service providers are legally obligated to pay the tax at the prescribed rate and file returns within stipulated deadlines.
Officials added that the measure aims to strengthen compliance with tax regulations and enhance transparency in the recruitment services sector, particularly those facilitating employment abroad.
The BRA further warned that failure to register, non-payment of tax liabilities, or delayed submission of returns could result in penalties and legal action under the provisions of the BSTS Act, 2015.
The authority urged all recruiting agents operating in Balochistan to strictly adhere to applicable tax laws to avoid fines and potential legal complications.
