Bangladesh reached 152/3 in their second innings against Pakistan in Dhaka, extending their overall lead to 179 runs in the first Test.

Openers started steadily on Day 4 before Mohammad Abbas struck early, dismissing Mahmudul Hasan Joy for 15. Pakistan reduced Bangladesh to 23/2 as Shadman islam fell for 10 to Hasan Ali.

A crucial 105-run partnership between Mominul Haque and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto stabilized the innings. Mominul scored 56 before being dismissed by Shaheen Afridi, while Shanto remained unbeaten on 58 at stumps along with Mushfiqur Rahim on 16.

Rain interruptions halted play for nearly three hours during the day.

Earlier, Bangladesh were bowled out for 413 in their first innings, with Shanto scoring 101, Mominul Haque 91, and Mushfiqur Rahim 71. Pakistan responded with 386, giving Bangladesh a 27-run first-innings lead.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Abbas took five wickets while Shaheen Afridi claimed three. Hasan Ali and Nauman Ali took one wicket each. In Pakistan’s innings, Azaan Awais scored 103, Abdullah Fazal 60, Mohammad Rizwan 59, and Salman Ali Agha 58.

Bangladesh’s Mehdi Hasan Miraz led the bowling effort with five wickets, while Taijul Islam and Taskin Ahmed took two wickets each.
