Balochistan Health Department suspends 23 Doctors over strike & misconduct

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) The Balochistan Health Department has taken strict disciplinary action against violations of service rules, strikes, and misconduct, suspending 23 doctors and issuing show-cause notices to 25 officers.

Shahid Rind, Aide to the Chief Minister on Political and Media Affairs, said that according to directives of the honorable judiciary, strikes, work stoppages, and disruption of public services in health institutions are unlawful and cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. He emphasized that uninterrupted provision of medical facilities to the public is the government’s foremost priority, and negligence will not be accepted.

The department has also suspended the postgraduate training registration of five trainee doctors linked to the postgraduate program, while formal inquiries have been initiated to determine facts and responsibilities.

Shahid Rind assured that all government hospitals, medical centers, and health institutions across Balochistan will remain open and continue to provide services to the public. He warned that employees absent from essential services will face disciplinary action under law and service rules.

Highlighting security concerns, Shahid Rind announced that the provincial government has formed a high-level review committee to assess the security situation in public health institutions across the province.

The committee includes senior doctors, health department representatives, provincial officials, and security authorities, tasked with identifying challenges and recommending practical solutions.

He stressed that the health sector is directly linked to human lives, and any action against public interest, disruption of services, or violation of rules will not be tolerated. The government is committed to ensuring institutional discipline, transparency, and accountability in the health sector.

Shahid Rind added that the government is fully aware of the genuine issues and professional concerns of the medical community and is taking serious steps to address them. However, he made it clear that there will be no compromise on law, judicial orders, or service regulations. All matters will be investigated transparently, impartially, and on merit to ensure justice.

Reaffirming the government’s resolve, Shahid Rind said that Balochistan is pursuing reforms, institutional stability, accountability, improved governance, and higher standards of public service in the health sector to guarantee timely and quality medical facilities for the people of the province.
