PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Mar, 2026) The All Universities Employees Federation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (AUEFKP) has urged the provincial government to provide immediate financial assistance to universities facing a severe financial crisis so that salaries and pensions could be paid before Eid.
According to a press release issued by the federation, the University of Peshawar and the University of Agriculture Peshawar currently lack sufficient funds to pay salaries to their employees ahead of Eid.
It said the situation has caused serious concern among university staff, particularly as the University of Peshawar has yet to release the February pension to its retired employees.
Employees of the affected institutions are reportedly facing financial difficulties and mental stress due to delays in both salaries and pensions, it added.
The federation emphasized that the provincial government should take urgent steps to support the universities financially so that employees and pensioners, especially those in lower grades, can receive their dues before Eid like other government workers across the province.
