HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2026) On the directives of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Suhail Ahmed Rajput (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), the Regional Director Ombudsman Hyderabad Syed Muhammad Sajjad Haider conducted a surprise visit to the government dispensary Hussainabad and reviewed its medical and administrative affairs in detail.

According to a handout, Sajjad Haider inspected the attendance register, medicine stock and other records.

Lady Health Worker Ms. Shahida briefed him about various sections of the dispensary, stating that outpatient department (OPD) services were provided for six hours daily, while normal delivery services were available round the clock. However, scrutiny of records revealed that only six normal deliveries had been conducted over the past six months.

During the visit, no doctor was present at the dispensary, and the staff strength was found to be limited, comprising only one lady health worker, one midwife, a security guard and a watchman.

According to the attendance register, one lady doctor was on casual leave, while other doctors and staff had marked their attendance but were absent from duty.

It was also noted that there was no ambulance facility available and no proper arrangement for clean drinking water. However, the presence of a solar system and a functional EPI (Expanded Programme on Immunization) center was confirmed.

Taking serious notice of the situation, the Regional Director directed the concerned authorities to ensure the presence of doctors and staff, provision of basic facilities and proper maintenance of records at the earliest. He particularly emphasized making the 24 hour normal delivery service fully functional to ensure timely and quality healthcare for patients in need.
