ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Mar, 2026) Attock Police on Wednesday intensified district-wide search operations, leading to the arrest of five suspects and four proclaimed offenders.
According to official sources, police teams simultaneously carried out targeted raids in various localities; consequently, a total of 936 individuals, 324 houses, and one hotel were thoroughly checked. As a result, multiple cases were registered under relevant sections of the law to curb unlawful activities.
Moreover, authorities confirmed that an illegally residing Afghan national was taken into custody and subsequently shifted to an Afghan refugee camp in accordance with prescribed legal procedures.
During the operation, police also recovered 15 liters of liquor, therefore registering a separate case, while another case was lodged following the seizure of 250 kites. In addition, one case was filed for violation of the Tenancy Act due to non-registration of tenancy details, and action was decisively taken against professional beggars operating in the area.
Meanwhile, as part of the same vigorous campaign, one proclaimed offender was apprehended during the search drive. Separately, three more absconders wanted in different cases were successfully arrested by specialized police teams. The Fateh Jang Police arrested proclaimed offender Muhammad Azhar Mahmood in connection with a 2024 theft case; similarly, Bahter Police apprehended Aqeel Khan, who was wanted in a 2025 gambling case, while City Attock Police detained Abdul Rehman in a theft case.
Police officials stated that formal investigations have promptly been initiated against all arrested proclaimed offenders, and further legal proceedings are actively underway.
Furthermore, authorities reaffirmed that such proactive and sustained operations will continue vigorously across the district to ensure public safety, strengthen law enforcement, and maintain durable peace.
