Attock police arrest two in extortion case, recover Rs 6.8 million

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) Police in Attock on Friday arrested two suspects, including a woman, in a major extortion case and recovered Rs 6.8 million during an operation led by SHO Injra Sub-Inspector Sajjad Saleem.

According to police officials, the operation was conducted after a citizen reported being blackmailed and extorted of large sums of money at different intervals. The suspects were identified as Imdad Muhammad, son of Ghulam Muhammad, a resident of Lund, Tehsil Fateh Jang, and Parveen, wife of Naveed, resident of Jand.

Investigators said the accused were traced and arrested using a combination of modern technology and human intelligence.

The recovered amount is believed to be part of the money obtained through extortion from the complainant.

Police said further investigation is underway and legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects. The District Police Officer Attock praised the operation and reiterated that strict action would continue against individuals involved in extortion and other serious crimes to ensure public safety and security.
