Anti-corruption team arrests land record official

MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) The Anti-Corruption Establishment Layyah carried out a successful operation at the Land Record Centre Layyah and arrested an official red-handed while accepting bribe.

According to official sources, Rana Abdul Ghaffar, serving as an SCO (Service Centre Official) at the Land Record Centre Layyah, was apprehended while receiving Rs. 25,000 from a citizen.

The raid was conducted by Circle Officer Sarfaraz Khan, along with his team from the Anti-Corruption Establishment Layyah, in the presence of a Judicial Magistrate Layyah. The accused had allegedly demanded bribe from complainant Muhammad Mudassar in connection with the transfer (Intiqal) of land ownership documents.

Following the arrest, a case has been registered against the accused under FIR No. 06/26, and further legal proceedings are underway.
