Another school blown up in South Waziristan

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) In another act of violence against education, a government primary school was destroyed in an explosion in Srah Ghara area of Bermal Tehsil in Lower South Waziristan district.

According to local admin on Wednesday, miscreants had planted explosive material inside the Government Primary School named after late Malik Shireen Jan. The explosives were later detonated, causing a powerful blast that severely damaged the school building and reduced a large portion of it to the rubble.

Fortunately, no students, teachers or staff were present at the time of the incident and no casualties were reported.

However, the attack caused significant damage to the educational infrastructure of the area.

Residents expressed deep concern and sorrow over the incident, stating that targeting educational institutions is highly condemnable and jeopardizes the future of local children. They noted that several schools and public properties have been damaged in similar incidents in the past, disrupting educational activities in the region.

They urged the government, district administration to take stern action against those responsible and ensure the protection of educational institutions in the area.
