MIRPURKHAS, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) The annual Urs of renowned Sufi saint of southern Sindh, Hazrat Syed Sultan Abdul Mughis, popularly known as Shah Dewano Sultan Hashmi (RA), was observed with great religious devotion and reverence on the blessed night of 26th Ramadan (Shab-e-Qadr) at his shrine in Taluka Matli.
The Urs ceremonies commenced with the traditional ritual of laying chadars on the shrine. The custodian of the shrine, Faqeer Dilshad Ali, also known as Dilbar Sain, along with hundreds of devotees, laid chadars at the mausoleums of Hazrat Syed Ismail Shah, the first deputy khalifa, and Hazrat Shah Dewano Sultan Hashmi (RA).
On the occasion, elaborate arrangements for Iftar, Sehri, and Langar-e-Aam were made for thousands of devotees, attendants, and visitors, which they widely appreciated.
Khatam-ul-Quran ceremony heldn at Shah Dewano Mosque, religious scholars shed light on the significance of Shab-e-Qadr, the revelation of the Holy Quran, and Islamic teachings.
They stated that shrines across the country promote peace, brotherhood, and interfaith harmony.
The speakers appreciated the participation of people from different faiths, especially women, and termed the joint prayers by Muslim and Hindu communities as a remarkable example of interfaith harmony.
They further emphasized that Pakistan, particularly Sindh, is the land of saints and Sufis where extremism has no place, and the message of love, tolerance, and peace prevails. The Urs also featured Naat recitations and Mehfil-e-Milad, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere for the participants.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the shrine’s custodian Faqeer Dilshad Ali (Dilbar Sain) offered special prayers for the prosperity of the country, the well-being of the nation, the Pakistan Armed Forces, and state institutions.
