ANF arrests eight, including two Nigerians, in nationwide anti-drug operations

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2026) The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested eight suspects, including two Nigerian nationals and a woman, and seized 21.96 kilograms of narcotics worth more than 11 million rupees in five operations across the country here on Friday.

According to an ANF statement, 700 grams of cocaine and 160 grams of methamphetamine, commonly known as “ice”, were recovered from a vehicle near Model Town in Islamabad. One Nigerian national was arrested during the operation.

In a separate action near Khanna Bridge Bus Terminal in Islamabad, ANF personnel detained another Nigerian national and recovered 10 grams of cocaine from his possession.

In Rawalpindi’s Chaklala Garrison area, officials intercepted a parcel arriving from the United Kingdom and recovered 450 ecstasy pills weighing 296 grams concealed in two jars.

In southern Punjab, ANF seized 16.8 kg of hashish and 2 kg of opium from an oil tanker near Tunsa Toll Plaza, arresting two suspects.

Meanwhile, in Karachi, 2 kg of heroin was recovered from a vehicle near Hub Chowki Road. Two suspects, including a woman, were arrested.

Cases have been registered against the accused under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and investigations are underway, the statement added.
